With a blood pressure monitor, you can quickly and easily measure whether your blood pressure is too high or too low. There are 2 types of blood pressure monitors. An upper arm blood pressure monitor consists of a band that you wrap around your upper arm and the device that measures blood pressure. According to the Heart Foundation, a measurement via the upper arm is the most reliable. In addition, there is the wrist blood pressure monitor. This is more compact and easier to carry than an upper arm model. When a blood pressure monitor is clinically validated, you can be sure that it measures accurately. These models have been extensively tested by experts. According to the Dutch Heart Foundation, the upper pressure in a home measurement can't exceed 135 mmHg and the negative pressure must remain below 85 mmHg.
