Philips AC0819/10

I was looking for an air purifier for under $200 that you barely hear and that doesn't look out of place in the living room. First I bought the Duux Bright Smart. It can filter more m2, has ionization option, carbon filter, app function, slightly better HEPA filter, and can switch off automatically on time. I already have a Duux fan that I'm very happy with, especially with how quiet it is, so had confidence in their air purifier. Unfortunately, the Duux Bright Smart makes a lot of noise, even in the lowest setting. Not acceptable to me, not even in the living room. I immediately sent it back and started looking for the quietest air purifier. That's how I ended up with the Philiphs AC0819. The minimum noise level of the Philips is 19 dB compared to 32 dB of the Duux. The maximum noise level of the Philips is 49 dB, compared to 60 dB of the Duux. It really is a world of difference. The Philips is really barely audible. Even if it turns up a notch, I barely notice it. Only in full it makes a lot of noise, but that never happens with me, and that is still a lot less noise than the Duux in full. So the noise level is the most important thing for me. In addition, the Philips air purifier is also beautiful and sturdy in design. Only the cord is a bit silly, but that is often the case. The device has an on/off switch on the back. You turn it on once and you never have to take it off again. On top is 1 touch button. By pressing repeatedly you switch from the night mode (lowest speed fan, very quiet, dimmed light) to the auto mode (the speed varies itself, from min to max in several steps, light is medium bright) to the max position (fan full, makes the most noise, light at its brightest). The light changes color according to the air quality, from blue to red in 4 steps. On a car, the cleaner will run faster if the air quality is worse. The device does not have more functionality, but it does this main functionality very well, that's what matters. I don't miss remote control or app or timer, because the device is so quiet and works fully automatically. He never really has to go out (unless on vacation) and he takes care of everything himself. Only if you put it in the bedroom, you can put it on the night mode at night, you don't have to worry about it. You should only replace the filter once a year, less than with other devices, so it is economical. If a replacement is needed, I'll see if the AC0830/10 carbon filter will fit. I expect so, because only the color of the devices seems different (I didn't want a gray device, like the AC0830/10). Exceptionally, this device offers the possibility to clean the air quality sensor. This is such an important part of the device's functionality, I'm surprised other air purifiers don't have it. I also considered the Winix Zero Compact, because it has slightly more functionality, such as carbon filter, ionization, etc. But it also makes more noise and I don't like the black part on the outside. I don't use ionization. Carbon filter is the only thing I'm missing now, but as I wrote, I'm solving with the new filter. Or, if you don't mind the device being gray, buy the Philips AC0830/10.
