I bought this product for my exam at the KULeuven where a graphical/programmable calculator (which I used in secondary education) was not allowed.

This calculator fulfills all the functions you still need: calculating logarithms, extensive operations (nice graphical representation of fractions), brackets, ... Everything except plotting graphs (you can enter 1st-degree equations and get function value, useful for estimates)
It's not a graphing calculator, so it won't have all the features you might want, but if that's what you're looking for, you're just in the wrong place here. It does what it's supposed to do and it does it well.

The only drawback that bothers me (slightly) is the cover to protect the front. Nice that there is something to protect the front of the device during transport, but I am disappointed how you have to take the 'cover' on and off. With the TI-84 (see below) it slides on and off nicely, here it 'clicks' in with protruding pins. So far no problems with it, but I can imagine that after a certain time one of these excellent PVC hooks breaks down and then the device is often unprotected.

So I came from a TI 84 (also from texas instruments) that I never had a problem with, so I was drawn to this scientific calculator. It was easy to adapt to this device, only there are two arrows in the bottom right row of the penultimate key. These are not in that place on the TI-84 and so it took some getting used to when I pressed these 'arrows' instead of the desired '+'.
The layout is clear as I was used to from Texas Instruments and the operation is straight forward, once you can handle the secondary function key you can easily get to all functions.
A handy extra was that instructions for frequently used underlying operations were printed in the cover (see below), so handy!

All in all, a good reliable scientific calculator. It has no graphical functionality, but if you buy a laptop without a touch screen, don't be surprised if nothing happens when you press the screen.
