Second Chance JBL Quantum 300 Black

I think the JBL Quantum 300 is a versatile headset. Thanks to the long cable I can literally go in all directions and the sound comes from almost every angle. Unfortunately, the Quantum 300 has fewer functions than the Quantum 400.

Headset is comfortable
The JBL Quantum 300 fits really well, even longer game sessions are no problem for this headset. The headband has a thin cushion, but fits well. The ear cups are really comfortable, even during longer gaming sessions. When I got started with this headset, it was one of the hottest weeks of the year. I could game for hours without getting warm ears. Now I have a slightly smaller head than the average person, so keep this in mind.

Plug and play
Like other wired gaming headsets, the Quantum 300 is incredibly easy to use. It really is a matter of plug and play. You plug the cable directly into your controller or use the included extension cable. You can use this headset even if you are far from your setup. Thanks to the extension cable, you can sit 2 meters from your PC. The JBL Quantum 300 can be used on any platform if you have the right connections.

Great sound
The JBL Quantum 300 uses JBL Quantum Surround Sound, JBL's proprietary software. This technique sounds fine, you estimate the direction of the sound well. It's not the best sound I've ever heard, but more than adequate for the price. Unfortunately, the Quantum 300 doesn't have a balance button for the in-game audio or party chat, so I had to adjust the settings on my PC or console. The microphone is really really good. I can be heard clearly during online gaming. This is because this gaming headset is directly connected with a cable.

Not wireless
This also brings us to the only drawback of this headset. You are always tied to a wire while gaming. The cable gets in the way while gaming, especially if you want to quickly pour a glass of water. In addition, you cannot easily connect the JBL Quantum 300 to your telephone, since they often no longer have a 3.5mm connection. So you will often need an intermediate piece for connecting to your smartphone.

This headset has nice soft ear cups. We use this headset for gaming and for working from home. The wired connection is ideal for us: you are never left with an (almost) empty headset!
The sound quality is excellent, both hearing and being understood. The gaming experience is fine. A dolby surround will probably sound even nicer... but for this price it is a great headset!
