I was allowed to test the SteelSeries Arctis Gamebuds and I can tell you the following. The sound of the Gamebuds is good but not very wow. The Gamebuds are very comfortable in my ears and also stay in place well when I go for a brisk walk. You can connect the Gamebuds to an app on your smartphone. In this app you can set many modes for different games. These modes then optimize the sound for the chosen game. There is also a dongle that you can put in your PC or your PlayStation. This makes it easy to connect the Gamebuds. The only annoying thing is that the microphone is not that good. During a session of Call of Duty via the PlayStation my teammates could barely hear me. This could not be corrected in the app either.

I am very impressed with the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Gaming Buds. These earbuds combine comfort, sound quality and versatility. I have used them a lot during gaming and VR sessions, where the compact size is perfect. A normal headset often works difficult with VR glasses, but these earbuds solve that problem.

The sound quality is as I have come to expect from SteelSeries: clear and powerful. Especially with the Sonar software on PC, the surround sound comes into its own, which significantly improves the gaming experience. Switching between Bluetooth and the 2.4 GHz connection is smooth, and the active ANC mode is easy to operate. A nice touch is that the active mode is spoken in the earbuds, so you always know what is on.

The battery life is excellent: in two weeks I only had to charge the case once. I do notice that the Bluetooth connection sometimes falters in busy environments such as full trains, which is a minor drawback. The mobile app offers basic functionality, but does not always connect smoothly.

These earbuds are a great choice for gamers looking for a combination of comfort and performance.
