Huawei Watch D2 Black

I tested the Huawei Watch D2 for a week and I am impressed with how easily I can measure my blood pressure with it. I also did a 24-hour blood pressure measurement. This worked well.

Large watch
The Huawei Watch D2 is a large and heavy smartwatch. Too big for my narrow wrist, but it still fits perfectly. I think this smartwatch is more intended as a medical device than as a fashion accessory. There are air cushions on the inside of the watch strap that inflate when I measure my blood pressure. I operate the smartwatch with the touchscreen and the buttons. The large and clear screen responds quickly and is easy to read.

Measuring blood pressure
When I measure my blood pressure, I immediately notice that it is very important that I adopt exactly the posture that Huawei indicates. Sit upright on a chair with both legs on the ground. I place my hand with the watch on my chest at the height of my heart. I support this arm with my other arm. The watch strap then inflates tightly around my wrist. After about 30 seconds it deflates and the measurement is successful. The measurement almost always fails when I move, talk or do not have the correct posture. I like this, because it means that the measurement is reliable.

24-hour blood pressure measurement
I also tested the 24-hour blood pressure measurement. I set it to take a measurement every 30 minutes during the day and every hour at night. This worked well. Every 30 minutes I received a notification and assumed the correct posture. The watch did its job. Sometimes I was on the road or it did not suit me. Then I postponed the measurement by 5 minutes. I find this useful, because it meant that I did not forget to do the measurement. At night, the watch measured automatically while I was sleeping. I did not have to assume the special posture for this. The smartwatch itself ensured that the measurements were successful. In the Huawei app on my smartphone I see a list of all the results from these 24 hours.

Battery life
The battery lasted about 5 days. I have done sports twice and done a lot of blood pressure measurements, including the 24-hour measurement. I think 5 days is a great score.

Suitable for any smartphone
I connect the Huawei Watch D2 to my smartphone to use it. I like that it doesn't matter which smartphone you have. This way, everyone can use this handy device.

The smartwatch also measures the oxygen level in the blood, the heart rate and makes an ECG. The measurements are all stored, so you can share them with doctors. You could also perform measurements for a guest, which are not stored. The smartwatch comes with earphones, so you can answer phone calls and watch videos on your smartphone or tablet. You can pause a video by double-clicking the earphones. The smartwatch has a long battery life. You can do three days with a full battery. The wearing comfort of the smartwatch is also very good. You hardly feel it, if you adjust the strap correctly. A measuring tape is included, so you can measure your wrist and choose the right size.
In addition to the measurements that the smartwatch performs, there are also training sessions that you can choose yourself. You have a program that indicates how much you train, how many calories you burn and how much water you drink. You can also do paid training, which you buy via an app. You can then do meditation sessions or breathing exercises. In short: this is a great device and I would recommend it to everyone.

I was allowed to test the HUAWEI Watch D2 Black Smartwatch. The blood pressure monitor works very well and accurately. I have compared it several times with a traditional blood pressure monitor and the results were always very comparable. The design of the smartwatch is very nice, despite the fact that it is quite large, it does not bother me and the watch sits comfortably on the wrist. The battery life is impressive. With one full charge I was able to do more than 9 days, while I measured my blood pressure daily and had all functions turned on. A disadvantage, however, are the downloadable apps. These are often not suitable for newer Android versions and quickly cost money. For example, I miss a Spotify app to be able to skip songs while running. A great product that I can definitely recommend!
