It's a bit crazy to spend so much money on a cup, but sometimes it's the little things in life that add up and become worth the money at the end of the month. I forgot so often that I still had half a cup of coffee left, and there you are with that cold black disappointment. In addition, your favorite drink just stays that little bit better, even if you continue drinking, because it is still just as warm as when you poured it.
The app is a bit overkill in my opinion and absolutely not necessary for use, but nice to have with you if you are an absolute control freak and want to set exactly how hot your coffee should be. You have to update the cup after you take it out of the box, but after that you can use it as if it were a normal cup. It has a sensor that knows when there is something in it that needs to stay warm, so no hassle with buttons or switching on/off. Just put coffee in it and drink it, or not.
The cup itself feels and looks qualitatively and is nicely finished, no weird edges or other crazy things and it just drinks as you would expect from a normal cup. The material also insulates well, even with boiling hot water you can just hold it in your hand. The light, which works as an indicator (status: charging, charged and in standby, warm, heating up, off) is secretly very cool and even adjustable (RGB!) so that you can keep different cups apart. The only downside is that you can't put it in the dishwasher (nor in the microwave, no idea why you would, but don't).
The saucer that works as a charging station has a nice long cable with which I can place it exactly where I want, on my desk, next to the keyboard, within reach. Simple yet effective design and made from the same high quality material as the cup itself, with a non-slip finish on the bottom.
If you're not a fan of coffee, you can also have tea.
