The coffee from my fully automatic machine isn't hot enough
4 tips to increase the temperature of your coffee
You can make a hotter cup of coffee in different ways. Some tips only take some more effort and time.
- Tip 1: Adjust the temperature settings.
- Tip 2: Pre-heat your cup of coffee.
- Tip 3: Descale your machine.
- Tip 4: Clean the brew group.
Tip 1: adjust the temperature settings
Some coffee machine allow you to adjust the temperature of the coffee via the menu of the coffee machine. Keep in mind that you won't find this option on every machine.
Tip 2: pre-heat the cup
If you brew coffee in a cold cup, the coffee already has a lower temperature. The cold of the cup absorbs the heat of the coffee. Some machines have a hot plate. This way, your cup stays warm while you make your coffee. Doesn't your machine have a hot plate? Heat up your cup under hot running water.
Tip 3: descale the machine
Did the coffee from your espresso machine get colder over time? That might be because of limescale buildup in the pipes. This way, your machine can't heat up the water properly. You can solve this by descaling the machine. Check the included manual of your fully automatic machine.
Tip 4: clean the brew group
Clean the brew group every week. Coffee residue can cause blockages which reduce the quality of your coffee. The cleaning program rinses all coffee residue, so you brew group functions properly.
