First impression of the Sony WF-C700N
What I notice right away is the weight of the charging case. It's light and feels sturdy. The earbuds are light too. Thanks to this, it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a heavy earbud. In addition to black and white, Sony also includes the 2 happy colors purple and green. The box also includes a USB-C to USB-A charging cable and 3 sizes of silicone ear tips.
Noise canceling closes off decently
I'm impressed with the noise canceling of these earbuds. Because the earbuds are light, I figured they'd let through much of the ambient noise. Luckily, this isn't the case. The earbuds close me off well from my surroundings, so I can work peacefully at a crowded office. When it's really crowded, I notice the earbuds let through more noise. This happens in traffic or when colleagues are having a conversation right behind me, for example.
Suitable for short listening sessions
The Sony WF-C700N are light earbuds. Thanks to this, I don't feel them in my ears. They also stay firmly in place and don't fall out soon. I like this, especially when I go to the gym and work out. I notice the earbuds start to feel annoying during long listening sessions. With listening sessions up to 2 hours, they don't hurt in my ears. After this, I start to feel the earbuds in my ears and they start to hurt a little.
Sound is balanced
The sound of these earbuds is balanced. Both the treble and bass are clearly audible at any volume and sound well-balanced. Thanks to this, most music genres come out the best way possible. Unfortunately, I'm a little disappointed by the sound of drums. As a result, music doesn't sound as deep and intense as it's supposed to.
Sony Headphones App offers many options
I recommend you to download the Sony Headphones App. With this app, I can adjust the noise canceling and the sound reproduction. For example, I choose to emphasize the bass. I also determine how much ambient noise I want to hear with 20 settings. This allows me to adjust the sound to my preference.
Conclusion
Are you looking for light earbuds with noise canceling and a detailed sound? The Sony WF-C700N is a must-have. Do you want to close yourself off from your surroundings and hear more depth in your music? I recommend you to choose the Sony WF-1000XM5.
