Description

With the TP-Link Deco BE85 WiFi 7 Mesh 5-pack, you can ensure a superfast connection on 2 floors. This mesh system supports WiFi 7, which provides wireless speeds up to 4 times faster as those of WiFi 6. This way, you can even use the fastest internet connections via WiFi without lag. Thanks to Multi-Link Operation, you can combine multiple frequency bands for extra high speeds per device. The Deco BE85 also supports the 6GHz frequency band. This offers more frequency space for higher speeds and suffers less from interference by the neighbors. You can connect over 200 devices to the Deco BE85 system, so this WiFi 7 mesh system is suitable for the busiest households.

Noticeably faster than the deco m9 plus that I bought 3 years ago. Replacing the main decoration unit was done in 2 minutes. The new units have more Ethernet ports than. The old m9 plus decos also work fine with the new system in the attic.

Very fast (wireless) internet throughout the house

After much deliberation, I decided to buy the BE65 and not to go for the BE85 for my new-build home. This is partly because of the costs, but also given the fact that I will not be using faster internet in the near future than the 2.5GB ports can handle. For that reason, I didn't think it was worth spending almost double on 10GB ports that I wouldn't be able to use to their full potential for a while. I have a deco unit on every floor in my new home. Initially, only the main unit in the meter cupboard was wired, but nevertheless I had the maximum internet speed of the connection in almost my entire home (200mb/s down and 250mb/s up). Now I have to wait until the Cat 7 UTP cables arrive so that I can connect everything wired and then enjoy higher speeds from the fiber optic cable. Installation was very easy and went smoothly with the deco app. You do have to mess around with the settings because, for example, the MLO network is not immediately enabled by default. All in all, very satisfied with this purchase, which will provide very fast internet throughout the house for the time being. If I had to mention a downside, it would be the price. It is an expensive purchase, but one that can last for years.
