It's a great drive with a fatal problem; many users including myself have experienced very rapid drops in disk health, causing the disk to lose more disk health in 1-2 months than it should under heavy usage over a ~2 year period.

Installation was a breeze, remove the panel from the PS5, open the cover, insert the Samsung and close everything again. Then I did a test in terms of installation speed and I honestly think that the 990 Pro is slightly faster than the standard internal disk. I installed some games on both drives for testing and the 990 Pro finished sooner every time. In addition, 2TB is of course a nice expansion in terms of storage space and because it is an m.2 disk you can also boot PS5 games directly from this storage (unlike games on an external disk). In short: recommended if your PS5 is short on space.
