According to our gaming headset expert
Game with freedom of movement with the CORSAIR VIRTUOSO RGB Wireless XT HiFi Gaming Headset with Spatial Audio. You can wirelessly connect this headset to your PC or PlayStation via the USB-A dongle or Bluetooth. That way, you don't have to hassle with cables while you're gaming. Connect 2 devices to the headset and listen to multiple audio channels at the same time. With surround sound, you hear all the game audio in 360 degrees around you and you know exactly where your opponents are coming from. That way, you're always one step ahead. You can also communicate online without background noise thanks to the noise suppression in the microphone. This way, your message always comes across clearly. The average battery life of the headset is 15 hours, so you can keep playing for a long time without charging it. If you often play alone or don't need a microphone, you can easily fold the headset microphone.

The Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is by far the best gaming headset Corsair has made in years. While some older Corsair models offered such sound quality or garish designs, the Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is a top-notch device whether you're playing competitive PC games, kicking back with console games, listening to music, or even just having a conversation on your phone. . This headset is functional, versatile and even a little stylish. The Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is one of the most expensive gaming headsets we've tested that doesn't venture into "audiophile" territory (that would involve Hi-Res audio, spatial sound, etc.). The battery doesn't last that long, and while it's compatible with an admirable number of systems, there's still some friction if you want to use it with anything other than a PC or a PlayStation. This headset only sounds magical on a PC, you get free access to dolby atmos for heaphones, which is normally available separately for 17 euros. And if dobly atmos isn't your thing, you can always use Corsair Utility Engine (iCUE) software for your sound settings. Unfortunately, this headset does not have onboard memory to store your EQ settings on it. So you can only produce a beautiful sound on your PC. With iCUE, you can easily choose from a variety of preset equalizer options (Movie Theater, FPS Competition, Bass Boost, etc.), set individual profiles for different games and apps, and even customize the subtle lighting options on the earcups. My only complaint here is that the earcup lights take away from what isn't already a very long battery life, but you can always turn them off. What sets the Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT apart from most comparable gaming headsets is that it offers Bluetooth connectivity in addition to USB wireless connectivity. This means it is compatible with mobile devices, as well as a number of smart TVs and streaming players. It's an incredibly useful feature and works exactly as it should. On the other hand, like many Corsair headsets, the Virtuoso doesn't work with a docked Nintendo Switch, meaning your only option is to play in handheld mode with a 3.5mm cable. Likewise, you should use a 3.5mm cable with Xbox controllers. The Virtuoso also offers a crystal-clear microphone, which my friends say was one of the best I've ever tested. That can be useful for both multiplayer games and phone calls with friends and family over Bluetooth. Play games and listen to music with your mobile. Delicious! Personally, I think it's just a bit too heavy and just wasn't comfortable enough. Also very unfortunate that EQ settings only work on a PC. Especially for the price if there really is an onboard memory for your EQ settings so that you can produce a great sound on all your systems. Corsair has made many improvements but for me they were just not good enough!

Sound is fantastic both for gaming (WOT) and for music, nicely full, clear and sufficient bass even at higher volumes without distortion. Microphone works perfectly and teamspeak members are immediately enthusiastic. A bit fuzzy about how to turn it off, when using the PC via the dongle, it turns off automatically after 10 minutes and as soon as you pick it up again, this is not completely off, now put it on the bluetooth position. Could be the placement of my PC but range doesn't seem too good, I have to experiment with it a bit.

Sound: The sound is surprisingly beautiful for a wireless ''gamer'' headset. Especially the included Dolby Atmos presets sound great. However, I find the quality of the bass disappointing. (But my opinion is influenced by the Sony MDR-XB950AP, a wired headphone focused on bass, so maybe not a fair comparison) Microphone: The microphone is really very good. You don't necessarily have to have it hanging in front of your mouth to be well understood. It is handy that the mute button is on the microphone itself, so that it also works when you disconnect it from the headset. And because of the red LED you can see clearly in the corner of your eye when you are muted. Link: The range of the Bluetooth connection is very good. The slipstream connection with 2.4GHz, on the other hand, falters with 2 walls or 6 meters away (18 meters advertised). Via 3.5 cable and Bluetooth you have buttons to control your music. Unfortunately, this is only possible via the PC via 2.4GHz or USB cable. If you are connected via 2.4GHz, USB or 3.5 you can be simultaneously connected to Bluetooth. This allows you to, for example, record a phone call while gaming on your PC via 2.4GHz, or listen to music via your mobile. Construction and Comfort: The headset does not have an aggressive ''gamer'' appearance, so you can use it, for example, in public transport without feeling ashamed. The materials used give the headset a premium look and feel. But this makes it a bit on the heavy side. The diameter of the ear cups is large enough for the over-ear experience. Unfortunately, they are not very deep, so your ears are likely to touch the drivers. This is a downside in terms of comfort. The headset is also fairly tight in terms of clamping force. You will therefore always clearly feel it on your head and after a long game session you may be relieved when the headset can be removed again. Additional: I also really regret the short battery life. He really doesn't make the advertised 15 hours. And the included bag is also a disappointment. He smells. It is foldable. Due to the design, it is never really closed (think of a loose pen in your backpack that still easily drills into the soft ear cups because there are holes at the bottom of the headset bag). But the most disappointing thing about the bag is that you can hardly get the headset in and that you don't have a separate place for the cables or the microphone. All in all, it's the best wireless PC headset I've ever owned, and I'm super happy with it. But I do keep another headset handy for listening to music.
