Overall a great camera to start with and discover if photography is really for you. Furthermore, the camera is also more than fine for taking "everyday" photos, so for example photos on vacation, birthdays, of the family or that one beautiful flower in the backyard. Because of the clear instructions that the camera gives you while taking the photos, you always shoot the perfect picture. Ideal if you are still unfamiliar with concepts such as aperture, shutter speed, white balance, ect. The camera will help you understand and apply these terms.
The connectivity (both bluetooth and wifi) is very stable and reliable. You can connect your smartphone and camera in no time and have your photos on your smartphone.
However, the camera is not recommended for those who already have a little more experience with photography (I am not talking about the professional or advanced photographer here). That's because the camera offers limited space to experiment with exposure. Here I specifically refer to the use of speedlites (external flashes) (for portrait and macro photography, for example) and here I also refer to the photographer with a slightly more limited budget. Canon has chosen to change the hot shoe (the connection point on top of your camera, on which you can slide an external flash). As a result, it is only possible to mount a limited number of speedlites on the camera. The camera can only handle Canon speedlites. And these speedlites aren't very cheap, unfortunately. The cheaper speedlite, for example Godox, cannot work with the camera, because the connection for the hot shoe does not match the connection of the speedlite. That is a shame, because there are many third parties that offer speedlites that are of excellent quality and also very affordable. These have a universal connection that fits almost every camera, except this camera and a number of other cameras from Canon, because the hot shoe is different. As a result, the speedlite will not work on the camera.
This problem can partly be solved with an adapter (which is also quite pricey) and even then you still have limited choice for a speedlite if you want to work with it. So this actually offers insufficient possibilities.
So if you're a little further along in photography and want to experiment a little more, I don't recommend this camera, as it doesn't give you much freedom of movement when it comes to lighting.
I also noticed that nothing is mentioned anywhere about the different hot shoe (not only at Coolblue, but also not at other points of sale and websites), if I had known that in advance, I would not have gone for this camera. For someone who wants to grow in photography, it is not an investment in the future, but really something for the shorter term, because you can no longer grow quickly with this camera, unfortunately.
So if you have little experience and you don't have the ambition to develop further in photography: the camera is recommended. Do you have a little more experience in photography or do you want to grow further in photography? Then I advise you to look further and consider investing a little more in a camera that can also offer you the space to develop, in the long run you will also get your profit from it.
