Description

The MSI Optix MPG342CQR is a 34-inch QHD ultrawide curved gaming monitor. The aspect ratio gives you a third more screen space than on a regular monitor. As a result, you get to enjoy more screen space, which is useful during shooters or strategy games, for example. That way, you'll have a wider overview of the playing field and you'll see opponents before they see you. Ghosting is a thing of the past thanks to the 1ms response time, while the 144Hz refresh rate ensures smooth moving images. In addition, AMD FreeSync synchronizes the frame rate of your AMD video card with that of the monitor to prevent lags. Are you more of a console gamer? No problem. The monitor can also be used in combination with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles.

Note: for QHD gaming, you need a powerful video card like a NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU or AMD Radeon RX 5000 series GPU, an Xbox One, an Xbox Series X or S, or a PlayStation 5.

Note: you can only reach the 144Hz refresh rate via DisplayPort. The maximum refresh rate via HDMI is 100Hz.

Product is fine. Only I do take a second chance at Coolblue and have never had a problem with it. Always very satisfied and the products are always 'new' for me. Most of the time you don't even realize it's a second chance. I thought so too with this one. But when unpacking, the bracket between the base and the screen was found to be cracked. I finally got it in, you can barely see it and it is firmly attached, but usually this is mentioned when you buy a second chance. So if I really have to look for a downside, it's that the foot is made of metal. But the connection between foot and screen is made of plastic. This mark and you do not see because it is firmly put together. But apparently this is a sensitive piece (only for transport or assembly/disassembly). Though I wouldn't know what happened to it. Because if this hadn't been the case, I wouldn't have mentioned this comment. So if he had been intact only pluses. Because once it is put together, it is sturdy and the plastic is no longer a drawback.

My first experience with a monitor with VA panel. The contrast and colors are very good. Only downside: the push buttons at the bottom to operate the menu are next to the push button to switch off the monitor, so you can accidentally switch off the monitor instead of confirming a choice.
