Description
The Foscam VD1 is a smart doorbell that works on the power grid with the ability to store camera footage locally. The doorbell has an SD card slot, so a cloud subscription with extra costs isn't necessary. The footage of the doorbell has a 2K resolution, which is of better quality than Full HD camera footage. In addition, the doorbell detects faces, so you only receive notifications when people are in the picture. You still need a subscription to also enable facial recognition of familiar people. The doorbell has dual-band WiFi, so there's a smaller chance of connection problems. Because the Foscam VD1 works with Alexa and Google Assistant, you can also view live footage on the screen of your Nest Hub or Echo Show.

Great picture, even in the dark. Deal breakers, however, were the notifications that came in far too slowly. Tried everything, wired/wifi, qos adjusted in router, battery optimization off etc... No effect. Sometimes push, other times not/much too late.
