The Synology DS1821+ is a NAS that you can use as a data base for small businesses and IT specialists. You can put up to 8 hard drives in the NAS to keep up to 108TB of files, which you can share with every connected user. The DS1821+ provides room for 2 M.2 NVMe SSDs, which allow you to run the hard drives even faster. You can create an SSD cache with this. Thanks to this cache, you can increase your storage capacity and often-used and demanding files load even faster. The advantage is that you don't have to use keys for HDDs. You can set up different RAID setups. Directly make backups of your saved files, so you don't lose them in case of a drive defect. This Synology NAS uses the program Synology Drive Server. Via this program, you can manage and edit all uploaded files from all the connected devices. This is even possible when the NAS is at the office and you, or one of your colleagues, works from home. Smooth transfer of the 5 HDDs of 8TB from the DS1520+ to this DS1821+. Adding 6th disk 8TB disk took 24 hours (from 4x8+8 to 5x8+8). Expected 2 days so very happy with it.

Have had the NAS for a week now and it works great. User-friendly interface with just the right amount of options. Great that there are many slots available and that a configuration can be chosen for a combination of different sizes of disks, so that old disks are still usable

Great NAS for home use with more than enough options. Both software and hardware. I am very satisfied with the purchase Not cheap, especially considering the meager decoration. Additional parts are expensive
