According to our camera lens expert
With the large zoom range of the Tamron 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD Sony FE, you can photograph subjects from a great distance. You use the lens with your Sony mirrorless camera. When you zoom in with the lens, you can clearly capture athletes and wildlife. And thanks to the wide image angle at 28mm, you can also easily capture landscapes and architecture as well. The aperture of 2.8 allows you to use the lens in dark locations. In addition, you can create a natural bokeh with this. With a focal length of 28mm, you can focus at 19cm from your subject with a magnification ratio of 1:3.1. At 200mm, the closest focal distance is 80cm with a magnification ratio of 1:3.8. This allows you to take sharp close-up photos of insects or flowers, for example.

The Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 is a true all-in-one lens. I use this to take close-ups, landscape photos and portraits. The only disadvantage for me is the variable aperture, which makes me less likely to use it in the evening. Versatile zoom lens When I take my camera on the road, I like to use a lens that can do everything. This way I don't have to keep changing lenses. This Tamron lens is therefore exactly what I am looking for. It has a large zoom range of 28-200mm, so I can shoot both wide-angle images and zoomed-in images. I especially like that when traveling. The possibilities are almost endless, for example I take landscape photos, street photos, portraits or animal photos with this lens. When I zoom in with the lens, it becomes less bright due to the variable aperture. For example, at 200mm I photograph with a maximum aperture of f/5.6, which is less useful when photographing in low light. I like to capture the city's nightlife when I travel, so I prefer to use a brighter lens at night. When zoomed out completely, I think the lens is bright enough for night photos. Close-ups The short minimum focusing distance of this lens also makes it suitable for close-up photography. I sometimes take photos of plants and flowers, but I don't have a special macro lens. That is not necessary with this lens. At 28mm, it focuses from a distance of 19 centimeters, allowing me to capture the smallest details. If I zoom in to 200mm, the minimum focusing distance is 80 centimeters. This is my favorite way to shoot close-ups. I also like that the autofocus of the lens is very quiet. When I photograph insects or animals, they are not startled by the focusing sound. Compact design For a zoom lens, I find this 28-200mm lens very compact and light at only 575 grams. This makes it easy for me to take it with me on a day of hiking. When I wear my camera around my neck, it feels heavy after a while. That's why I prefer to carry it in my hand or backpack. I also like that the design is water resistant. This lens can withstand a heavy rain shower, allowing me to take atmospheric photos in bad weather. Unfortunately, it has no image stabilization. As a result, I see vibrations more quickly when I photograph completely zoomed in at 200mm and I take blurry photos more quickly without a tripod.

I haven't had the camera very long. But so far I am very satisfied. It still takes some time to discover what all the buttons are for and what the best setting is.
