The Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G ED is a medium wide-angle lens for Nikon SLR cameras. It has a large maximum aperture. The lens is designed for use with full-frame cameras, but can also be used on DX cameras. The lens uses a Silent Wave Motor, so you can focus silently. For optimal image quality, the Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G ED has special coating and lens elements. The minimum focal distance of the lens is 25cm.

in combination with D610, this is a great versatile lens. I used them to capture landscapes, but also to shoot portraits with a convincing depth of field. Excellent lens to take with you in museums thanks to the super light sensitivity!

- Price
- super fast finish
Doubted between this and the tamron 35mm 1.8 vc. The scores on dxomark show little difference in optical qualities, but the better autofocus and price were the deciding factor for me. The vc is nice but not important at this focal length only on video
