What's the speed class of a dryer?
When you choose a new dryer, it's useful if your laundry dries quickly. To see which dryers are faster than average, you can check the speed class of the appliance. You can read which speed classes there are and what they mean for you here.
Speed class 'fast'
If you're often in a hurry, choose a fast dryer to save time. You can recognize one by the 'fast' speed class. This means that it dries faster than the average dryer with the same load capacity. Do you want to dry more energy-efficiently? Go for a fast heat pump dryer with a C energy label or better. This saves you up to € 45 on energy costs per year, compared to an E energy label. In addition, your laundry stays in good condition for longer thanks to the lower drying temperature.
Speed class 'regular'
Do you choose the 'regular' speed class? The appliance dries as fast or slower than the average dryer with the same load capacity. If you don't mind the drying time of the appliance, this is a good choice.
How do we calculate the speed class?
We calculate the speed class by looking at the average drying speed per load capacity. We only compare the drying time of an 8kg dryer to the drying time of other 8kg dryers. A condenser dryer always has a shorter drying time, because it dries at a higher temperature. These dryers lower the average. This way, it can be difficult for other dryers to get the 'fast' speed class.
