How do you choose a smart plug?
Do you want to turn off your appliances automatically?
Many appliances still use power in standby mode. You can prevent this with smart plugs. You can set a time at which the smart plugs will turn off. For example, you can set a schedule to have your workplace turn off at night. Or use your smart plug as your light switch during work hours. This will help you save on your energy bill
Do you want to measure your consumption?
Do you want to know how much you can save with your smart plug exactly? Choose a smart plug with consumption measurement. In the app of your plug, you can see the power consumption of your appliance and for how long it's been on. You'll know how to save energy right away.
Do you want to control your devices remotely?
A smart plug isn't just energy-efficient, but also useful. If you already turn off many appliances completely, you'll often have to go under your desk or behind the closet to reach the socket. You can control your smart plug remotely via the app or with the included remote.
Tip: check the size of the connector
You want to be able to use multiple connectors next to each other. Your smart plug can be up to 10cm wide or high to make them fit side by side or above each other. Many connectors that measure the consumption of your appliances are too large for your socket. You can connect a power strip to your connector too. That way, you'll have more sockets available and control multiple appliances at the same time with your wireless socket.
