How do you replace the water filter in a fridge?
Replace water filter in 4 steps
To replace your water filter, follow the steps below.
- Step 1. Shut off the water supply
- Step 2. Remove the old water filter
- Step 3. Insert the new water filter
- Step 4. Make sure that clean water comes out of the filter
Step 1: turn off the water supply
First, put a towel or a bowl under the old filter. This way, you can collect water that may leak. Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator.
Step 2: remove the old water filter
Remove the filter from the filter holder. To remove the water hose, loosen the clips. You should keep the filter horizontal to prevent it from leaking.
Step 3: place the new water filter
Remove the clips from the new water filter you want to install. The arrows on the filter indicate the flow direction of the water. Connect the water hose on the side that the arrow points from. Connect the water hose attached to the fridge on the side where the arrow points to. Push the water hose into the filter about one centimeter on both sides and secure the hose with the clips.
Step 4: make sure that clean water comes out of the filter
Open the water supply again. The water that now comes out of the filter is cloudy. Let about 3 liters of water flow through the filter until the water is clear again. Your water filter is ready to tap ice-cold glasses for you again.
