Mio Cyclo Discover vs Discover Connect vs Discover Pal

The Discover Pal is the latest Mio Cyclo Discover model. This model allows you to use MioShare on your desktop and on your smartphone via an app. Just like the Connect, this app is available for Android and iOS. You can share routes with friends or family, or download popular, existing routes. You can also upload routes to your navigation system directly from your smartphone.

With the Discover Connect, you can use MioShare on both your desktop and smartphone too. This is useful if you want to create, upload, or share a route while on the go. You can also use MioShare to set up preferred roads or to update your bike navigation.

With MioShare, you can properly prepare your bike adventure. You can create routes yourself or download existing routes via popular platforms like Komoot or RouteYou. MioShare is only available on your desktop with the Discover, not for your smartphone.

The WeJoin app is a useful tool during group bike rides. Just the Pal has this function, the 2 other models don't. If one person in the group has a Pal with WeJoin, the others just need the MioShare app on their smartphone. You can host the bike ride with the Pal. You all share your live location, track each other live, and add photos of beautiful spots that you see along the way.

With the Discover Connect, you can't use WeJoin like you can with the Discover Pal. You can ride with someone with a Pal. When they host the ride in the WeJoin app and you have the MioShare app on your smartphone, you can still use all the challenging functions WeJoin has to offer.

WeJoin isn't available for the Mio Cyclo Discover. Besides, MioShare is only available for your desktop. Due to this, you can't enjoy all the benefits the Connect and Pal offer. Think about tracking each others live location, saving landmarks, and adding photos to different spots during your ride.

Only with the Discover Pal, you can enter junction numbers on the device. The bike navigation will create a junction number route based on your GPS location. You can also save your location with one touch of a button, so you can easily visit it again. And with the NeverMiss function, you'll never miss an interesting sight again.

NeverMiss changes your Mio into a digital travel guide. While creating your route, you can add places you want to visit during the ride. Once you're on location, you can scan the QR code with your smartphone and read everything on this place on the internet. It's not possible to enter junction numbers on the Discover.

With the Discover, you can't enter junction numbers on the device itself. Do you often ride routes via junction numbers? We recommend the Discover Pal. The NeverMiss function is available on the device. By learning more on the city or nature you're cycling through, your bike ride will be even more exciting.

A unique function of the Pal is the spoken direction. You can connect your Pal to your headphones via Bluetooth to receive spoken directions during your bike ride. The device will tell you where and when to take the turn. Nice and safe. Don't like this? You can easily turn off this function via the settings of the bike navigation.

With the Discover Connect, you can't get spoken directions. To know when the turn is coming up, you have to listen to the beeps. You can check your navigation system to see which way you should go. This does mean you'll have to look on your screen more often, so you're less focused on the road than with spoken directions.

You read your route on your Mio bike navigation, but you want to keep your eyes on the road as much as possible. That way, you'll be able to keep an eye on traffic while enjoying the area you're cycling through. By listening to the beeps, you'll know exactly when to take a turn.
