How do you solve errors on your Bauknecht dishwasher?

Is your Bauknecht dishwasher not working and displaying an error code that you can't identify? There could be many reasons for this, and simply switching it off and on again often doesn't help. In this article, you can read about what the error messages mean and what you can do about them.

Error code E1, F4

Error code E1, F4

Error codes E1 and F4 may mean that the water in your dishwasher isn't draining. One possible solution to fix the problem is to clean the filter or strainer. We explain how to do this in the following article.

Error code F5

Error code F5

If you see error code F5, the spray arm nozzle is usually blocked. To fix the problem, check the spray arm nozzle and find out what's blocking it. Check whether a tall plate in the lower rack or a glass in the upper rack is preventing the spray arm nozzle from turning.

Error code F9 or F12

Error code F9 or F12

If your Bauknecht dishwasher stops working and displays these error codes, turn the machine off using the on/off button and then turn it back on again after about a minute. Restart the cycle. If this error message continues to appear, unplug the dishwasher for 1 minute and then plug it back in.

Error code F6

Error code F6

Error code F6 means that your dishwasher has a problem with the water supply. First, make sure that the supply hose doesn't have any kinks. If the filter in the supply hose is clogged, clean it. After cleaning, you can reset the dishwasher and turn it back on. A broken water stopper could also be the problem. Our expert will explain how to do this.

Error code F15

Error code F15

If this error code flashes and the dishwasher ends its cycle early, it may be because the drain hose is positioned too low or water is being sucked in from the sewer system. First check whether the end of the drain hose is positioned at the correct height and whether water is being sucked in from the sewer system. There may also be air in the water supply. Check for leaks or other problems that could allow air to enter.

Curved S symbol

Curved S symbol

Is there a symbol that looks like a curved S? If so, the dishwasher salt is likely almost empty or already empty and needs to be refilled. In some cases, the salt may just be clumped together. That's why you should check the salt level carefully first.

Sun with rays

Sun with rays

The sun with rays symbol means that there's not enough rinse aid and you should refill it. Keep in mind that it may take a few wash cycles after refilling before the sun rays symbol disappears.

Faucet symbol

Faucet symbol

If this code appears on your Bauknecht dishwasher, it means that there's a problem with the water supply. Water isn't getting into the machine, so it can't run a wash cycle. Common reasons for this are that the supply hose isn't properly connected or the faucet isn't turned on. It's also possible that the hose or pump is blocked. If you're using a hose with an aquastop function, this may be the cause of the error code.
