How to fix error codes of your Bauknecht dishwasher?

Your Bauknecht dishwasher is on strike and displays an error code that you can't assign? There can be many reasons for this, and simply switching it on and off often doesn't help. In this article, you can read what is behind the error messages and what you can do.

Error code E1, F4

With both error codes E1 and F4, the water in your dishwasher might not be draining. One possible solution to fix the error is to clean the filter or the strainer. We'll explain how to do that in the following article.

Error code F5

If you see the error code F5, it usually means that the spray arm is blocked. To fix the problem, examine the spray arm and find out what is blocking it. Check if there's a high plate in the lower compartment or a glass in the upper compartment preventing the spray arm from rotating.

Error code F9 or F12

If your Bauknecht dishwasher goes on strike and displays these error codes, switch off the machine with the on/off button and switch it on again after about a minute. Restart the program again. If you still get this error message, unplug the dishwasher for 1 minute and then plug it back in.

Error code F6

Error code F6 means that your dishwasher has a problem with the water inlet. First, make sure that the inlet hose isn't kinked. If the strainer in the inlet hose is clogged, it needs to be cleaned. After cleaning, you can reprogram the dishwasher and turn it on again. A defective aquastop can also be the problem. Our expert explains how to do this.

Error code F15

If this error code flashes and the dishwasher stops its cycle early, it might be that the drain hose is positioned too low or water is being sucked in by the wastewater system. Check if the end of the drain hose is positioned at the correct height and if water has been sucked into the drain system. There may also be air in the water supply. Check for leaks or other problems that could let air in.

Curved S symbol

Do you see a symbol that looks like a curved S? The dishwasher salt is probably almost empty or already empty and needs to be refilled. In some cases, the salt is just caked-on. So take a close look at the salt level beforehand.

Sun with rays

The sun with rays symbol means that there isn't enough rinse aid and you should refill it. Bit it might take a few rinses after refilling until the sun rays symbol disappears.

Faucet symbol

If your Bauknecht dishwasher displays this code, it means that something is wrong with the water supply. The water doesn't get into the machine, so it can't perform a rinse cycle. Common reasons for this are that the inlet hose isn't connected properly, or the faucet is turned off. But it's also possible that the hose or the pump is clogged. If you're using a hose with an aquastop function, then it this could be the trigger for the error code.
