Replace steam ring
In this video, you'll see how to replace the steam ring of your Sage espresso machine. It's important that you replace it after a while. We'll go through all the steps with you. You can also find these steps in the manual.

You need:
- Brush
- Hex key / flat screwdriver
- A new steam ring
- Pliers
Step 1: prepare the machine
For the preparation, go through the following steps:
- Turn off the machine and unplug the connector from the socket.
- Let the machine cool down.
- Remove the bean grinder from the machine.
- Remove the drip tray and the water tank.
- Put the machine on its back, so you can easily reach the brew group.
Step 2: remove the used steam ring from the machine
- Remove all coffee residue from the group head of the brew group with a brush.
- Take the screw out of the brew group. With the Barista Express, you can use a hex key. With the Barista Touch and Pro, you can use a flat screwdriver.
- Take the silver plate from the brew group.
- Remove all coffee residue that's on the silver plate and the machine.
- Remove the used steam ring. You can use tweezers for this.
Step 3: place the new steam ring
- Take the new steam ring.
- Make sure the smooth side of the ring goes into the machine.
- Place the new steam ring. You have to press it firmly, so it's placed properly.
- Take the silver plate and the screw and place them back.
- Twist the screw tightly.
- The job is done.
