How do you place the water filter in your Melitta Solo?
On this page, we'll show you how you can easily and quickly place the water filter in the Melitta Solo. We recommend that you replace the water filter every 2 months. That way, you prevent limescale buildup in the pipes of your coffee machine. If you use a water filter, you only have to descale your coffee machine once per year.

Replace the water filter of your Melitta coffee machine every 2 months. This prevents limescale from damaging your coffee machine and keeps your fully automatic coffee machine in great condition. The machine will last a lot longer. You also preserve the best coffee taste.
Step 1: set up the machine
- Take the water filter and move the date disc forward 2 months.
- Immerse the water filter in a glass of water for a few minutes.
- Turn off the coffee machine.
- Press the coffee bean button and the large 'on/off' button at the same time for 3 seconds.
- Remove the drip tray and empty it into the sink. Place the empty drip tray back in the coffee machine.
- Remove the water tank from the coffee machine.
Step 2: set up the water filter
- Unscrew the old water filter from the water tank with the attachment.
- Empty the water tank.
- Place the attachment on the water filter and screw the water filter onto the bottom of the water tank.
- Snap off the water filter attachment and fill the water reservoir to 'Max'.
- Place the water tank back in the coffee machine.
- Press the button with the coffee bean so that the appliance rinses briefly.
- After rinsing, remove the drip tray.
- Empty it and put it back in the machine.
- The water filter is now installed successfully.
