You need to replace the water filter every 2 months, or when your coffee machine indicates it's time to do it. When this is depends on the hardness of your tap water and how many cups of coffee you make per day. The De'Longhi water filter fits all De'Longhi espresso machines.
Step 1: prepare the water filter
- Set the round dial on the water filter 2 months ahead.
- Hold the filter under the faucet until the water streams out of the openings sideways.
- Remove the water tank from the machine and fill it to 'MAX' with water.
- Immerse the filter in the water tank until air bubbles escape.
- Place the filter in the round opening in the water tank and press it well.
- Put the water tank back into the machine.
Step 2: install the water filter
- Press settings.
- Use the arrow keys to go to 'Maintenance' and press 'OK'.
- Place an empty container with a 0.5L capacity under the steam wand.
- Turn the steam dial to setting 'I'.
- Wait until the container is full.
- Turn the steam dial to setting 'O'.
- The water filter is now installed.
