How do you descale your Krups EA819E Quattro Force?
On this page, you can read how to descale your Krups Quattro Force. If you use a water filter, you don't have to descale the coffee machine as often. Easily follow the instructions in which we explain this cleaning job step by step. That way, you can prevent errors or defects due to clogged limescale and coffee rests.
Get started with descaling
It will take you about 30 minutes to descale the Krups Quattro Force. These are the steps we'll go through:

You need:
- Krups descaler
- 600ml container or 2 separate containers
How often should you descale?

When it's time to descale your Krups coffee machine, it'll give you a signal. How often you run this cycle, depends on the water quality and whether you use a water filter. This is about once every 4 months on average if you use a water filter. If you don't use a water filter, it's once every 2 months. We recommend you to use the Krups descaler for this.
Step 1: prepare the descaling
- Once the icon with a droplet and 5 dots appears on the display, it's time to descale the machine.
- Press the cogwheel and select the descaling icon.
- Take the water tank out of the machine and remove the water filter from the water tank. Use the included attachment for this.
- Empty the water tank and fill the water tank with fresh tap water up to the 'Calc' mark.
- Add the content of the Krups descaler bag to the water.
- Put the water tank back into the coffee machine.
- Put a container of at least 600ml under the coffee outlet and steam wand.
Step 2: descale the machine
- Press the 'Start/Stop' button to start the descaling process. This will take about 8 minutes.
- When the 2 icons stay on, you can remove the container and drip tray. Empty them in the sink and put back both parts.
- Take out the water tank and empty it in the sink. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it up to the 'Max' mark with tap water.
- Put the water tank back into the machine.
Step 3: rinse the machine
- Press the 'Start/Stop' button to rinse the machine with water.
- Empty the drip tray and container after 6 minutes.
- Put the empty drip tray and container back.
- Press the 'Start/Stop' button for the last time to have the machine rinse one more time.
- Empty the drip tray and container after 6 minutes.
- Put back only the drip tray.
- The Krups Quattro Force has now been descaled successfully.
