In Skull and Bones, survival plays a big role. You start as a castaway and you have to find the resources to build your own ship yourself. With your ship, you can sail through an open world to find other resources to improve your gear. You're not alone at sea, because there are other ships and animals that attack you. Find contracts to earn money, and become the most notorious pirate at sea.

You can play Skull and Bones alone, with a friend in co-op mode, or in multiplayer. In co-op mode, you can play missions together and share the loot. If you play alone or with a friend, you can open your world to other players. This way, the sea becomes a multiplayer world, and you can become the target of other players. But don't worry, there are also areas at sea where you're safe and can't be attacked.
