Getting started with your electric flosser
It's different to floss with an electric flosser or water flosser than with some floss wire. We'll give you a few tips, so you can clean your mouth as efficiently as possible.
- Tip 1. Use the right attachment.
- Tip 2. Choose the setting that suits your teeth.
- Tip 3. Use mouthwash,
- Tip 4. Replace the attachment in time.
Tip 1: use the right attachment
You can remove plaque from your teeth with any flosser attachment. Are there multiple attachments included with your electric flosser, also called tips? Adjust the attachment to your teeth or complaints for the best cleaning. Use the or orthodontic tip, for example. To clean extra thoroughly, choose an extra slim attachment. That allows you to reach between your teeth and molars more easily. Do you prefer to massage your sensitive or inflamed gums? Use an attachment that rotates the water jet.
Tip 2: choose the setting that suits your teeth
It differs per electric flosser if you can use 1 or multiple settings. Does your electric flosser have multiple settings? You can adjust the setting to your teeth and needs. Do you have inflamed or sensitive gums? The sensitive or massage mode with a rotating water stream is suitable for you. If you want to clean thoroughly, choose the intense setting.
Tip 3: use mouthwash
Some water flossers or electric flossers can work with water and mouthwash. If you floss with mouthwash, you can enjoy an extra clean feeling after you floss. Before you fill the water tank of your flosser with mouthwash, check if your electric flosser is suitable for that. You can check that in the manual of your device.
Tip 4: replace the attachment in time
The more often you clean your teeth, the sooner you need to replace the attachment of your electric flosser. After some time, bacteria can build up in the floss attachment, so the result won't be as clean. We recommend to replace your attachment after about 3 months for the best flossing performance.
