Toasters may look alike, but they have a number of different properties. Before you choose a toaster, ask yourself the following questions:
- How many slices of bread do you want to toast?
- Do you also want to make croque monsieurs and bagels?
- Which extra options do you want?
How many slices of bread do you want to toast?
Which toaster you need depends on the number of bread slices you want to toast. The number of slots indicates how many slices you can toast in one go. There are toasters with 2, 3, and even 4 slots. There's one exception. Some toasters have 1 long slot, which you can usually place 2 slices in.
Do you also want to make toasties and bagels?
In addition to toasting bread, most toasters also allow you to make a crispy toastie or bagel. Did you choose a toaster with included sandwich racks? Place your cheese sandwich between the rack to prevent cheese from falling out. With a bagel function, you can make a delicious bagel in no time. This function toasts 1 side of the bread and keeps the other side warm.
What extra options do you want?
Warming rack
Want to keep your sandwiches warm for longer? Choose a toaster with a warming rack. Simply place your sandwiches or croissants on the rack to keep them warm for up to 15 minutes. The handles of the rack are heat resistant, so you don't burn your hands when you take off the rack.
Defrost function
With the useful defrost mode, you can defrost your bread slices with the touch of a button. That's useful if you forgot to take bread out of the freezer the night before.
