The lens mount for Sony mirrorless cameras is an E mount. This E mount fits both on full-frame and APS-C mirrorless cameras by Sony. But, there's a difference between the lenses for full-frame and APS-C mirrorless cameras. They mostly differ in quality and price. Lenses that are suitable for full-frame mirrorless cameras have a much higher image quality because of the special lens elements, and they're a lot more expensive. Lenses that have been optimized for full-frame mirrorless cameras by Sony have FE in their name.

Lenses for APS-C mirrorless cameras by Sony

APS-C sensor

Lenses without FE in the name are suitable for APS-C mirrorless cameras by Sony. Think about SEL, NEX, or E. Keep in mind that the lenses with SEL FE in the name are suitable for full-frame cameras too. If you buy a lens for your APS-C camera that's suitable for full-frame too, you won't get the most out of your lens in terms of image quality. If you end up buying a new mirrorless camera with full-frame sensor, you can continue to use the lens.
