How much RPM does your washer dryer combination need?

The speed of a washer dryer combination indicates how often the drum rotates per minute. We also refer to the speed as RPM or rotations per minute. If you have a washer dryer combination with a higher speed, your clothes come out of the drum drier. You won't have to dry your clothes as long as a result. Read which speed is suitable for you below.

Choose speed

Choose speed

When choosing a washer dryer combination, 1 of the things you should look at is the speed. When you choose the speed, keep the following in mind:

  1. Which type of laundry to you wash most?
  2. How dry should your laundry be after the wash cycle?

1400RPM: for pants and shirts

1400RPM

A washer dryer combination with a 1400RPM speed ensures that your laundry dries fairly well during the spin cycle. On average, the residual moisture percentage is 48% after the wash cycle. This percentage indicates how much moisture is left in your laundry after the wash cycle. A 1400RPM speed is good for pants and shirts. Do you have delicate laundry? Adjust the program to a lower speed.

1600RPM: for bedding and shorter drying time

1600RPM

The difference between 1400 and 1600RPM isn't much. The average residual moisture at 1600RPM is 44%, so your laundry comes out of the drum slightly dryer. This speed is useful if you wash a lot of bedding. Thanks to the high speed, your laundry won't have to hang on the drying rack for as long and you can shorten the dryer cycle. Keep in mind that your clothes and bedding wear faster with a high speed.

Set a lower speed yourself

Set speed

If you get an appliance with 1600RPM, that doesn't necessarily mean you should use that speed. You can choose the speed per wash cycle yourself. This way, you can get a washing machine with a high speed without your delicate clothes becoming less beautiful. You can easily set a lower speed, such as 1200 or 800RPM. This way, your woolen sweaters and silk blouses last longer.
