I had ordered 2 Gbit fiber optic and could already see the downpour. A simple modem included and it is in the meter cupboard. Add to that 2 gaming teenagers... That's asking for whining! I wanted to be ahead of that, but things turned out differently. The decos were hung behind the modem in access point mode. Constant interruptions, moderate speed in the attic, while 1 (of the 3) decos was also there. It drove me crazy. Until I start to suspect Odido's modem. Fixed and reset the whole mess. This time connected directly to the media converter (or UTP from fiber optic box directly in the deco). Adjust some settings in the deco app, see Google for this. Super speed! Ping fantastic and up to 800 MB/s in the attic and in the bedroom! The separate IOT network at only 2.4 GHz for lights, etc. is also nice. No more interruptions, as it seems now. It costs a bit, but no more whining teenagers and everything can be streamed/gamed wirelessly and everywhere, possibly at the same time? That's worth it to me. The woman did not tell how much those plastic cupboards really cost, that would at least be equivalent to 2 whining teenagers...

Purchased this mesh set as an upgrade to my Deco M5 that runs in access point mode. Coming from an M5, 2 things immediately stand out. The size of the units (tube model instead of small saucer) and the speed of the new hardware. Of all the new deco sets of recent years, this is a set that actually has no major drawbacks. Compared to the x75 (non pro), it does have the 2.5 Gbit network connection that the X90 also has, but it does not have WifFi 6E. The XE75 Pro has both! Why this upgrade? I have more and more new equipment in the network that also supports WiFi 6 and 6E. But the Deco M5 only goes up to Wifi 5. In addition, I also want to upgrade the wired network step by step to 2.5 Gbit or higher. But there are no cheap switches for it yet. In any case, the mesh set is now ready for it. For anyone familiar with the deco system, there are no specifics with regard to the app and the settings. For people who like to play with network settings. Leave this one alone, there is little to play. (hence also referred to as a minus) The installation of the new units in an existing system where the decos are all in access point mode is super simple. Unpack the box connect the new units to power and a switch. Tap on add unit in the app, select the model and it will be recognized and will immediately start working as an extra satellite with the same settings of your existing network. This prevents you from having to set a new SSID on connected devices. As a final step I made 1 of the new units main deco and removed the old M5 main deco. After that there was no more looking back. The only special feature is the 6Ghz band, which is standard as "dedicated backhaul", which I have converted to "WiFi network and Backhaul". With this setting, a separate network is added to the WiFi settings for the 6Ghz and a separate SSID must be set here. The 2.4 and 5Ghz cannot be split.
