According to our binoculars expert
With the Vortex Solo 8x25 in your pocket you always have your goal in the picture. This compact monocular still has a magnification of 8x and a 125.64 meter field of view, despite its small size. Thanks to the full multi-coated lenses, the Vortex Solo 8x25 has an optimal light transmission and because the viewer is filled with nitrogen, your lenses remain condensation-free.

For me as a walker, these binoculars are ideal. I like landscapes and nature, but I'm not a real bird watcher or anything. I just want to take a closer look every now and then. The (super handy!!!) carrying clip allows me to hang the binoculars from the straps of my backpack. The moment I see something I would like to see up close, I immediately have it at hand. With standard binoculars it takes considerably longer before you have that thing out of the backpack, etc. Then the bird has often literally already flown. I walk fairly long walks (+20km) which makes wearing binoculars around my neck irritating. Due to the light weight of this viewer, you do not notice that it is hanging on your backpack. In other reviews I read that focusing would be difficult; I didn't notice any of that. I find that the viewer offers a very pleasant resistance when focusing. I bought the 8x36. This magnifies enough for me on the road. I have no experience with the 10x36. If I had to mention a small downside, it would be that the carrying clip does slightly affect the comfort in the hand when using it, but that doesn't outweigh the fun you get from the carrying clip when you're on the go.

fits comfortably in the hand (hand-tight) nice colors and sharp we use it for art paintings on ceilings e.g. in churches, Sistine chapel nice if you wear glasses by extending the lens slightly, your glasses do not touch the lens very easy to adjust sharpness, start a bit stiff we are 65 plus and find it very user friendly

Size and sturdiness, finish and design: no comments, fine as far as I'm concerned. Handy bag and carrying strap. Operation: focus ring is too close to the eyepiece, has a very small working stroke and is very stiff. Retractable eyepiece cap: ok for spectacle wearers. Optical performance quite good, taking into account the low luminosity. I suspect that the 8x36 of the same brand is a bit "quieter" on the eye...
