Rode Videomic NTG

I had initially bought the small Rode Videomic. This provided a rather weak output signal (normal for micro without battery power). But when used with a still camera, the input volume on the camera had to be quite high, causing disturbing noise, unless you put the microphone very close to the sound source. The NTG does provide a strong output signal with the battery supply. The output volume is infinitely adjustable in strength. This means that the input volume on the camera can be turned down. This results in a clean and noise-free recording sound, which is very pleasant. The NTG is more sensitive to ambient noise than the small Rode Videomic. That does not have to be a negative, but it is good to know if you opt for a shotgun microphone. Due to its capabilities, the NTG can be perfectly used for purposes other than video. Instrumental recording on PC for example. The jack output on the NTG serves as a headphone connection. Very handy. Satisfied with the qualities. You will of course pay extra for it.

Unpack, plug in and record, it's that simple. The Rode Videomic NTG fully meets my expectations, gives a nice clear sound and can be connected directly to the PC via USB or to a phone or camera with the supplied cable. There is a clear instruction that shows by means of pictures how the different functions work. I haven't been able to discover any downsides to this microphone yet.
