The Rode Videomic Pro is a true shotgun microphone designed for advanced videographers who work with a camcorder or SLR camera. The audio control user interface lets you set the frequency range to your own liking, among others. The microphone is equipped with a two-stage filter that cancels out disturbing sounds and the shelf equalizer improves the treble. The Videomic is also equipped with a wind cover and shock mount. You can connect the microphone to your camera via the 3.5mm jack connector.

It's quite an investment, but if you give +1500€ to a camera, this is really the best way to easily increase your video quality. It's easy to use, turns itself on automatically at startup, so you can hardly forget it. Works on the supplied rechargeable battery, as well as AAA batteries as well as via the power supply of your camera. Very happy with it, a real upgrade for my setup.

I tested the Microphone for an afternoon under different conditions and it works great. With a lot of wind you do need a deadcat, especially when filming objects further away such as cars
