Toast thick bread in the Philips Viva Collection Toaster HD2692. This toaster has an extra wide slot that fits 2 thick slices of bread. Hungry for a bread roll or a hot croissant? Use the built-in warming rack for this. You can set the browning level by choosing one of 8 settings. Don't have a lot of time and just got your bread out of the freezer? No problem, your sandwich defrosts in no time with the defrost mode. Thanks to the Cool Touch exterior, you don't burn your hands and the toaster is always safe to use. You can easily clean the toaster after use, thanks to the removable crumb tray.

Uneven browning and too shallow slot

The toaster is easy to use, but has two major drawbacks. Only 1 'normal' slice of bread fits in it because the slot is not deep enough and the bread cannot stand upright in it. In addition, the bread does not brown evenly. Often pieces are already brown and almost burnt while other parts seem barely toasted
