After buying a few "cheap" toasters, which broke pretty quickly, I bought another Dualit. The latter has c. 20 years of good service. I expect this one to last at least as long.

Device does what it should and much better than a cheap device. My homemade sandwiches are crispy on the outside and even softer than before on the inside (they used to dry out earlier). Everything feels solid and I believe I will be able to use it daily for the rest of my life! The extra lever to get the sandwiches out is indispensable in the meantime, done with fiddling to get them out of the slot. Also looks great on the counter.
