How does our upgrade service work?
You can easily trade in your device. We'll explain it step by step:
- Buy your new smartphone, tablet, or laptop on our website and have it delivered to you.
- Transfer all your data from your old device to your new device.
- Go to the store within 30 days and hand in your old device.
- Our expert checks your old device and determines the trade-in value. You'll receive the trade-in value in your bank account within 7 working days.
Smartphone upgrade
Is your current device slow, or do you prefer to have the latest of the latest? Trade in your device for the latest Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy, for example.
Tablet upgrade
Your tablet won't be able to handle the latest apps anymore after a while. Time for a new one. Trade in your old device and choose an Apple iPad or Galaxy Tab, for example.
MacBook upgrade

What's the value of my old device?
We assess the condition and model of the device. The expert in the store determines how much you get. An undamaged iPhone 12 Pro could have a trade-in value of up to € 250, for example.
Can I trade in my device without a new purchase?
No. If you choose our upgrade service, you have to buy a new smartphone, tablet, or MacBook at Coolblue. You can hand in 5 devices at most to buy 1 new device. Keep in mind that these should all be the same type of device. So you can't trade in a smartphone for a tablet, for example.
Which devices can I trade in and where can I do this?
You trade in your smartphone, tablet, or MacBook in the store with us. It doesn't matter which brand you trade in, except with laptops. We only accept MacBook models. You have up to 30 days after your purchase to trade in your device.
What happens with my device after I trade it in?
If the device is still in good condition, we'll give it a second life. If it's not, we'll recycle the device. This makes our upgrade service sustainable and better for the environment.
Do you have to have purchased your device at Coolblue to be able to trade it in?
No, that's not necessary. You can also trade in your smartphone, laptop, or MacBook at Coolblue if you've bought it at a different store.
