Get started with the Maxi-Cosi Axiss
Now that you have the Maxi-Cosi, you want to start using ir as soon as possible. Read step by step how you can get started with your new car seat here.
- Step 1: determine the rotational direction.
- Step 2: fasten seat belt.
- Step 3: adjust the shoulder straps.
- Step 4: set up the sitting and sleeping position.
- Step 5: adjust the Axiss headrest.
- Step 6: detach the Maxi-Cosi Axiss.
- Step 7: clean the car seat regularly.
Step 1: determine the rotational direction
Before you put the Maxi-Cosi Axiss in the car, it's important to determine on which side of the car you're going to place it. That's because a seat on the left side of the car rotates the opposite way of a seat on the right side of the car. Turn the Axiss upside down and adjust the rotational direction with the white slider.
Step 2: fasten the seat belt
Fasten the seat belt
To set up the Axiss in the right way, it's important to place the seat belt right between the dedicated holders. You start on the side of the car door, guide the seat belt along all the holders, and fasten the seat belt.
Tighten seat belt
- Turn the car seat so you can reach the rotary handle.
- Turn the handle until the gray area is pointed at the car seat.
- Place the seat belt between the black guide and fasten it in the holder on the seat.
- Yank on the seat belt so it blocks and hold the seat belt.
- Use the gray handle to tighten the seat belt.
- Check whether the seat belt is placed firmly and you're ready to hit the road.
Step 3: adjust the shoulder straps
To put your little one in the car seat easily, it's important to adjust the straps. Press the black button near the seat and carefully pull the shoulder straps. If you make the shoulder straps longer, it's easier to put them around the arms of your child. After securing your toddler, you can carefully pull the chord between their legs until the shoulder straps are tight enough.
Step 4: set up the sitting and sleeping position
To always support the head of your child in the right away, the Maxi-Cosi Axiss has 8 different sitting and sleeping positions. Do you think your toddler will fall asleep? Make sure that the seat is in a sleeping position, so their head doesn't lean forward. Press the gray button just beneath the seat to tilt the car seat.
Step 5: adjust the Axiss headrest
To safely take your child for a drive, it's important that the car seat supports their head well. You can do this with the sleeping position and by adjusting the headrest. Adjusting the Maxi-Cosi headrest is easy. You simply tilt the headrest forward a little and pull it up or push it down.
Step 6: uninstall the Maxi-Cosi Axiss
Before you move the Axiss to a different car, you have to disassemble the car seat. You can do so by following the steps in reverse order.
- Turn the seat so you can see the rotary handle. Pull the gray handle until you hear a click and the car seat unfastens.
- Pull away the seat belt from behind the car sear and put the seat back to the normal position.
- Unfasten the seat belt and carefully take it out of the guide.
Step 7: clean the car seat regularly
After some car rides, your little one probably left quite som crumbs in the seat. That's why it's important to clean it regularly, so your child is both secured safely and travelling hygienically. The cover of the Axiss is easy to clean in the washing machine. You can clean the other parts with a damp cloth. Want to prevent the cover from getting dirty? Choose a summer cover, so your little one never spills on the Axiss directly.
