This large sports watch is an all-rounder. With the Vantage V3 I improve my sports performance and learn how to sleep better. I also download offline maps, so that I can always find my way.
Appearance and battery life
Although the 47 millimeter screen is too large for my wrist, I didn't find it very disturbing. The smartwatch fits comfortably on my wrist. It is light and fits well. The battery lasts me about a week. The battery drains faster in sport mode, so a week is a good score in my opinion.
Sport
Whatever sport you do, there is a good chance that this sport profile is on the Vantage V3. I choose 20 sports profiles that I can set on the watch. I do this via the Polar app on my smartphone. I have been running and doing yoga workouts with the watch. The watch recommends workouts to improve my performance. My training status tells me if I'm ready for a tough workout or if I need to take it easier.
Smart functions
I receive my incoming messages and calls on the watch. I can only read this, not answer it. Vantage V3 is really a sports watch, so for me this is not really necessary. I control my music and podcasts via the smartwatch, which I find useful.
Measurements
This Vantage measures quite precisely. It sometimes seems to measure my heart rate less well. Compared to other smartwatches, the Vantage often indicates a higher heart rate during activity and a lower heart rate at rest. I can take tests to determine my sports level, such as a walking test, running test or cycling test. But also an ECG measurement and overall fitness test. This allows the smartwatch to know what my baseline is. This gives me personal tips for training, so that I can improve my fitness or leg muscles, for example.
Size and screen
Considering how big the watch is, it really weighs very little and I hardly feel it. I think the watch is too big for my wrist of 14 centimeters in circumference, but it fits well. I can clearly read my dates and time on the clear AMOLED screen.
Sleep and recovery
Like many smartwatches, I also measure my sleep quality with the Vantage V3. I see how deeply I sleep and how often I wake up. With the Nightly Recharge function I learn how to improve my sleep and wake up more rested.
Navigation
With maps and the compass on the smartwatch I always find my way back. I download maps via the Polar website, which I then put on the Vantage V3. These maps are therefore available offline. This way I can always find my way back, even if I have no reception.
