What do you need to charge your smartwatch?

Smartwatches differ greatly in terms of battery life, but they don't last forever. So you'll have to charge your smartwatch every now and then. A smartwatch always includes a charging cable, but most smartwatches don't include a charger. How you charge the smartwatch differs per brand. You can charge Samsung and Apple smartwatches wirelessly, for example. In this article, we'll explain everything about smartwatch chargers.

What do you need for your Apple Watch?

There are 2 ways to charge your Apple Watch. You can connect it to the included cable or charge it on a charging dock. The cable has a USB-C connector, so you have to connect it to a USB-C charger or your computer. Or, choose a charging pad with multiple charging spots to charge your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch at the same time. Keep in mind that you can only charge the Apple Watch on the magnetic Apple Watch charging dock. You can charge the Apple Watch Series 7 extra fast with the included magnetic smartwatch charger.

What do you need for your Samsung Galaxy Watch?

You can charge your Samsung Galaxy Watch by placing it on the magnetic charger adapter. You'll find it at the end of the included cable. The charging cable has a USB-A connector, so you have to connect it to a charger with a USB-A input. Want to charge multiple Samsung products at the same time? Buy a wireless charging pad. In addition to your Samsung Galaxy Watch, you can place your wireless earbuds or smartphone on it. These Samsung chargers have a special spot for the smartwatches, so it stays in place while charging.

What do you need for other smartwatch brands?

Most smartwatches require you to connect a charging cable to the back of the watch. Some cables actually have to be inserted into the watch, while other cables connect to the watch with magnetic pins. Most cables have a USB-A connector, which you have to connect to a charger with a USB-A port. So you can't charge your smartwatch with a wireless charger for smartphones. Because smartwatches don't usually include chargers, it's useful to buy one. That way, you don't have to charge your watch via your laptop.
