PS5: this is what it looks like
The PlayStation 5 is black and white and has a modern design. In addition, the PS5 has a blue LED strip. This makes the console look futuristic, like the object comes straight out of a Marvel movie. The size of the PS5 is 39x10.4x26cm, which makes it a little higher and wider than the PS4 Pro with a size of 32.7x5.5x29.5cm. Besides the regular PlayStation 5, there's the PS5 Digital Edition. This means that it doesn't have a disc tray, so you download the games onto the console via the PlayStation Store. That way, you won't have a stack of games on your TV cabinet. You'll have to choose though, to avoid a full storage capacity.
Differences PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
The PlayStation 5 is a more powerful console than the PlayStation 4. On the PS5, you can game with ray tracing and a 4K or 8K resolution. This provides the most beautiful special effects during your gaming session. The fast SSD card of the PS5 ensures extremely fast loading times. The controller differs as well. The haptic feedback makes the triggers respond to what happens in your game. That way, you can feel the game come to life in your hands. You can play PS4 games on your PS5 as well, thanks to backwards compatibility. Read more about this on this page.
Specifications
The PlayStation 5 has an RDNA 2 architecture GPU by AMD that achieves a maximum speed of 2.23GHz. You can play 4K games with a maximum refresh rate of 120 fps. In addition, the PS5 has a CPU and an SSD that ensure games load up to 20 times faster than on the PlayStation 4. It also has 16GB RAM and support for 3D sound, which allows you to hear the depth and direction of the sound.
Backwards compatibility
Something that PlayStation fans have been complaining about since the launch of the PS4 is the lack of backwards compatibility. The PS5 does support this. This means you can easily transfer your digital game library to the new Sony console via your PS account. This way, you can play PS4 games you bought digitally on the PS5. In addition, you can also insert physical PS4 discs in the PS5 to play these games.
Controllers
The DualSense controllers have haptic feedback. The controllers also have dynamic trigger effects. These are triggers with resistance that adapt to the game you're playing. In terms of appearance, the controllers kind of look like the current DualShock V2 controller. The name of the controller is DualSense, as successor to the current DualShock 4.
Sony PlayStation 3D Pulse
You can have a seamless and wireless experience with a headset that's made for 3D audio on PS5 consoles. The Pulse 3D wireless headset has a refined design with 2 microphones with noise suppression, a built-in rechargeable battery, and accessible buttons to adjust the volume and more.
Sony PlayStation 3D Pulse Wireless Headset
- The 3D sound produces a spatial audio, so you can hear exactly from what direction your opponents are approaching.
- Thanks to the 2 hidden noise-suppressing microphones, others can always clearly understand you.
- The thick artificial leather ear cups shape themselves to your head, so that your ears don't bother you even after a long gaming session.
- The plastic headband isn't foldable, so it's less easy to take the headset with you or to store it.
- 3D sound only works on the PlayStation 5 console, not on the PS4 or PC.

Monitors for the PlayStation 5
With a gaming monitor, you can get the most out of your PlayStation 5. The low response time and high refresh rate make these monitors suitable for console gaming. The low response time prevents blurry images and the high refresh rate ensures smooth images while gaming. These PlayStation 5 monitors have different refresh rates from 144Hz up to no less than 240Hz, so you can keep performing during intensive gaming sessions. With a PlayStation 5 monitor, you can game with a razor-sharp image thanks to the QHD and 4K resolutions. Landscapes look realistic thanks to this, without compromising in terms of the response time or refresh rate. Want to game from the couch? Choose a 34-inch screen or larger for the convenience.
