You must clean your microwave every month so that it lasts longer. In addition, a clean microwave is necessary for preparing food. You can read how to clean your microwave and what you should take into account here. First, we take care of the stubborn stains, then we clean the interior of the microwave, and finally the outside.
Get started with your microwave
In this article, we'll explain the products you can use to loosen the dirt and how to clean the interior and exterior of the microwave.
Step 1. soak off the dirt
Step 2. clean the interior
Step 3. clean the exterior
Step 1: loosen the dirt
Are you dealing with stubborn stains or food scraps? If so, you have to soak the dirt first. Fill a microwave-safe bowl with water and a few dashes of cleaning vinegar or lemon juice. Place the bowl in the microwave and heat it for 5 to 10 minutes at maximum power. Let the bowl cool off a little before you get started. While the dirt is loosening, prepare soapy water. Fill a bucket with warm water and dish soap. You can also use a special microwave cleaner.
Step 2: clean the inside
After the dirt has been soaked away, the cleaning can begin. First, pull the plug of your freestanding microwave out of the socket. Then remove the turntable and any other loose parts from the microwave. Take them off with soapy water and a cloth or put them in the dishwasher if they're suitable for this. After this, clean the inside walls of the microwave. After the dirt has been removed, wipe everything with a clean, damp cloth. Then dry everything with a dry cloth.
Step 3: clean the outside
First, make sure that the ventilation openings are dust-free. Use a soft brush for this. Then wipe the outer walls, the control panel, and the door of the microwave with the soapy water and a clean cloth. Don't forget to clean the door seal strips. The dirt accumulates very easily here. Also wipe the outside with a damp cloth a second time. Then dry everything again.
