I was reluctant to buy a mic stand because I never really needed one. I always just took the mic out and put it on my desk and connect it to my mac. It was annoying, but it worked.

After buying this, it's always on my desk, but not really on my desk, it's low profile, so I don't see it in my view and it also doesn't appear on camera. It was a bit pricey, but it has made my life a tad easier.
