Why a new label?
in 2020, the European Commission decided there should be a new label. The reason for this is that the categories of the old labels are confusing, ranging between D and A+++. In addition, the energy checks have become stricter over the years. Because of this, it's difficult to compare a new TV to a TV from 2012. So with the new labels, you can make energy-efficient choices. That's good for both the environment and your wallet.
What has changed?
Firstly, the categories have been adjusted. Instead of categories from A+++ to D, they now run from A to G. In addition, new icons and information will be added. Information about the screen size and consumption with HDR images, for example. You'll also find a QR code, which takes you to the database of the European Union. In this database, you can compare the energy consumption of products to each other.
What does the new layout look like?
In addition to a new frame and a different color, the label mostly looks the same. You'll find the QR code on the top right of the label. And you'll see the name of the manufacturer and model number above the new scale. The icons are at the bottom.
