What's the ideal viewing distance from my TV?

To determine which size is suitable for your room, you can measure the sitting distance. That's the distance from your viewing position to the spot where you'll mount the television. When you're too close to the screen, you'll see that the screen consists of small dots called pixels, and the image becomes less sharp. Most television have 4K resolution, so you can still see a sharp image up close. If you choose a TV larger than 55 inches, be sure to keep the viewing distance in mind. If you're too close to a 65-inch TV, for example, the sharpness of the image might disappoint. For 32-inch TVs and smaller, Full HD is often enough.

When you determine your viewing distance, ask yourself what you want to use the TV for. If you often play games, it's best to sit closer to the screen. This'll allow you to completely immerse yourself in the action, and details will be much clearer. If you often watch soccer or tennis matches, it's better to sit farther away from the TV. Having to track the ball with your eyes all the time isn't very comfortable.
